Mrs. Fraley took four athletes from JMHS Sadie Mann, Rylie Surface, Brock Parker and Conner Dillon to the Chick Fil A leadership Summit in Charleston. We had wonderful day of food, fun, fellowship, and leadership training. Shout out to Sadie Mann who won a very competitive game of head/shoulders/knees/toes against over 100 players.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Coach Ricky Day. His dedication to Monroe County Schools' archery program has touched many lives. Ricky's legacy extends far beyond trophies and lessons; through archery, he taught precision, patience, and perseverance—and through life, he modeled a passion for the outdoors and a love for family. I know that those values greatly enriched the lives of his students, friends, and community. The Monroe County community will miss Ricky.

Every day matters. Regular attendance is very important to the academic progress of students. There is a direct relation between a student's daily school attendance and academic performance, work habits, and graduation. In the case your child does miss school, Monroe County Schools now has a convenient online form for submitting attendance excuses. The QR code on the calendar magnet sent home will direct you to the page https://www.boe.monroe.k12.wv.us/forms for turning these in to your child's school. You will need to enter your child's full WVEIS lunch number in order to submit the excuse. If you aren't sure of what that number is, please contact the school, and they can provide it for you.
