Did you know every student needs an updated Emergency Care Form each school year? Did you know if your child is a new enrollee or entering grades PreK, K, 7, or 12th grade they need to submit an updated shot record, well child within the last 12 months, and dental exam in the last 12 months? Did you know if your child has any medications that will be needed at school, they must have updated orders each school year? Did you know Monroe Health Center is open in your child's school for visits if you have a signed consent form? Did you know Kilcollin Dental performs dental screenings for any student with a consent form? All these forms can be picked up and questions can be asked at the upcoming agency fair from Jessie Thomas, BSN, RN, NCSN on August 8, 2024 at James Monroe. Did you know you can also find these forms on Monroe County Schools website! Come by the agency fair Tuesday to make sure your child is ready for the upcoming school year!

Students from Ms. Weiss’ Therapeutic Services Program and Mr. Hancock’s Biomedical Science Program competed at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Houston, Texas. This is a huge competition with hundreds of students in each category. Although we didn’t bring back any medals, we had a great experience sharing the enthusiasm of like-minded students from all around the world. We also visited museums, the Houston Zoo, and other sites around the huge city. While returning home the flight was rerouted due to storms causing us to miss our connecting flight. As a result, students also were able to spend a couple of days sightseeing in New York City. While in NYC students visited Times Square and Rockefeller Center. They were also able to stroll through Central Park before returning to Monroe County.

Monroe County is appreciative of the years of service Coach Matt Sauvage has given to James Monroe High School. He has had a positive impact on the lives of many young people. His record speaks for itself. He led the teams to back-to-back state titles. We wish him the best.
