Monroe County Schools is proud to partner with WVDE and universities across the state to offer the Grow Your Own Pathway Program to our students. Students who enroll in this program receive the following benefits:
* 24 to 30 hours of college credit free of cost while in high school
* Includes 12 hours of core education credits
* Includes 12 hours of general education courses
* Early college and career start
* Senior graduation stole
* Senior laptop
* Educators Rising membership
* Early induction into the local education system
* Early connection to WVDE Offices of Educator Preparation and Certification
* Eligible to apply for a Restricted Short Term Substitute Permit
* Eligible to substitute in elementary and middle schools once 60 hours of coursework is completed, while enrolled in the educational pathway
* Eligible for Certified Teacher of Record during residency and can be paid 65% of state salary
* Attend the Milken Educators Forum
* Attend the WVDE Focus Group Participation
* Attend the EdVEnture Leaders Investing in Family Engagement (L.I.F.E.) professional development with stipend

After school tutoring forms are due tomorrow, Thursday October 2nd. Tutoring will begin October 8th.

Deputy Cabinet Secretary of the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security Rob Cunningham, and Director of Safety and Tiered Support Systems of the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) Jonah Adkins address the recent unprecedented number of school threats in West Virginia in this week's video. They also share important information for families, including free resources available to support the social-emotional and mental health needs of children. Counties are asked to share this School Safety Update video with their families via listservs and other distribution channels.

Senior sports players Gavin French, Michael Balboa, Holly Martin, Kyla Thornton, Maggie Boroski, Ava Dunlap, Hannah Rhodes, Maggie Blankenship, and Hannah Jewell came to read and play with the kids at EHS. The kids really enjoyed it and can't wait for some more of their high school friends to come up.

JMHS has postponed all our games for tomorrow due to travel concerns for our kids. Cross country was at Pikeview, varsity volleyball was at Westside and jv volleyball was at Herbert Hoover. Our students will not be traveling to any of these events. Thank you for understanding and everyone be safe!
Due to flooding concerns in both Monroe and Giles counties, Saturday's Narrows Vs. James Monroe football game will be moved to Monday at 6pm at JMHS
