Congratulations to the following Peterstown Middle School students on winning at the Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference. This year's SLC was coal mining themed and focused on the influence WV coal has on the global market. These four students will now have the opportunity to attend the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA this summer.

While there, students had the opportunity to network with their peers, attend inspirational workshops, and compete. All three students placed in their competitions and earned the privilege to attend the FBLA National State Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California this summer. #GEARUPSWV #GEARUPworks

Biomedical Science Students had the opportunity to observe careers in different departments at Princeton Community Hospital. Students were allowed to pick a specific area of interest to better understand what a typical day is like. Areas of focus were Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Medical Imaging, and Surgery.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Lady Mavericks for their win against Wyoming East last night. They will play Wheeling Central in the semifinals on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center.

Peterstown Middle School will be hosting a fundraiser dance on March 14 from 6-8 for grades five through eight. There's a five dollar admission and you should dress in green. Concessions will be sold at the dance. All proceeds will go to McDowell County for flood relief.

IMPORTANT: If you are attending the game at the girls game at the civic center tonight please note the civic center has a clear bag policy.
We would like to wish the JMHS Girls Basketball Team good luck tonight! They play in the State Tournament at 9:00 at the Charleston Civic Center. We hope to see everyone there! Proud to be a Maverick!

James Monroe High School will host a LSIC meeting March 25, 2025, to discuss spending of funds and attendance. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in discussion. The meeting will be at 4:00 p.m.
The girls basketball team will be leaving James Monroe high school at 5 PM this evening. Please come out and help us to send them off or on the streets on the way to the county line.
Tickets for tomorrow nights girls game in Charleston can be purchased at JMHS from 4 to 5 for $8.00 to the public. The tickets will be $11.00 at the gate. Students may purchase tickets from Mrs. Fraley today and tomorrow morning in her room 102.
