The fourth and final week of James Monroe Senior Fall Sports players Jordan Lowe, Emma Ballard, Cole Thomas, and Jackson Phipps visited EHS this past week and shared some stories with the children. The children enjoyed hearing Never Touch a Grumpy Bat, Hickory Dickory Dock, The Very Hungry Caterpillar's ABC book, Where's my Mummy, Room on the Broom, and Trick-or-Treat Micky Mouse.

For the first time at JMHS our cross country team will be competing at the state cross country meet at Cabell Midland on Saturday. A celebratory sendoff is schedule for Friday around 12 at JMHS and the teams will be escorted across the county line. Please line the streets and help sendoff our boys and girls cross country teams. You can also head to Cabell Midland and cheer them on.
Please be aware that next week we will be entering our volleyball sectionals at JMHS. Because this is a sectional event involving other schools who do not have the GoFan app we will be unable to accept digital tickets or take credit cards at the door it will be cash only at the door. Thanks so much.

Monroe County's Nursing department has implemented parent portals for your student's health records and we can't wait to see you join and see all the perks built within. Please review your phone numbers and emergency contacts at your earliest convenience as the import from the school database to SNAP had some hiccups.
The MVS staff were treated to a “Build your own coffee bar” provided by Communities In Schools Site-Coordinator Brandon Eggleston. We would like to thank Manic Espresso for being a Partner in Education and donating the items. The coffee bar will be available to staff every other Friday until the end of the school year.

The children enjoyed hearing Aliens love Dinopants, Eric Carle ABC book, numerous nursery rhymes, My First Book of ABC's, My First Book of Animals, The Old Lady who Could Not Sleep in her Bed, Old MacDonald, and The Prince and the Witch and the Thief and the Bears .
They also enjoy a stroll over the football field to watch some Powder Puff Football and hear the Marching Mavericks!
